We believe that the parent's role in the development of the child must be supported and reinforced through the center’s programs.
We believe that there are certain basic values such as; honesty, integrity, truthfulness, caring, concern, independence, and self-esteem, which must become a part of the child if he/she is to function as a responsible citizen in our society. We believe that children must be encouraged to express their feelings. The parent’s support of these philosophies is a vital part of children's growth. Our programs provides for emotional, social, physical, and academic growth and development of the young child.

At the time of application, parents should plan to meet with the centers owner and Co-Owner one week prior to the starting date for the purpose of discussing the child's schedule. Upon enrollment each toddler will be issued 1 (one) cot with his/her name on it. We also will supply a pillow, a crib sheet and blanket. Bedding is washed here on Fridays.
Due to the limited space available, a non-refundable deposit of one week’s fee is required upon application. This deposit will guarantee your space as requested in this application and will be applied to the first week of care at Bright Star. A two (2) week notice of withdraw from the program is required in writing. If you do not provide proper written notice, current care fees will be assessed to your account for collection.
BEHAVIOR - KEEPING YOUR COOL
Learning self control is just a normal part of growing up, so Bright Stars policy is to never ridicule or embarrass a child when he/she misbehaves. Nor do we allow the use of corporal or physical punishment. Instead we utilize positive reinforcement that strengthens the self-esteem of children. Most situations can be handled by the use of "positive redirection". This approach is redirecting the child's focus from the situation to another activity more appropriate at that time.
At Bright Star, outside play is just as important to learning as indoor learning. Our playground has slides, play gyms and open space for a multitude of fresh air and varied learning activities.
HEALTH & HYGENE:
The child's immunization chart, medical inventory and emergency procedure card must be on file upon starting date. These records may not be more than one month prior to start date. Immunizations MUST be up-dated as they are received. All medical changes must be discussed with the owners.
Any medication administrated to the child at the center, both prescription and over the counter must have a written note with directions from the parent or physician and in the original prescribed or factory packaged container.
To assure that we at Bright Star are doing our best to care for your child, we ask that you alert the Owners of any allergy problems he or she may have. Doing so will allow us to be proactive in the care and feeding of your child. This information will be placed in your child’s file for reference if needed.
